Skill Level : Easy | TIME: 10 minutes | Materials Needed: Curling iron, 1 24-inch jumbo braid hair extension, Hair tie, 1 small hair elastic, Bobby pins | Hair History: Roman women had specially trained slaves called ornatrices who spent a great deal of time forming the hair into complex shapes.

1.

Curl your hair with a curling iron. Then gather up the hair at your crown and secure it into a ponytail.

2.

Make a three-strand braid with the hair extension and pin it to one side of your head so that it drapes over the top of your hair and wraps around, underneath the ponytail.

3.

Except for a section of hair at the nape of your neck, drape your hair around and over the braid so that the section of braid at the top of your head shows. Join this hair to the ponytail and retie it.

4.

Pick off a section of the ponytail and rope braid it, securing with a small clear elastic.

5.

Wrap this rope braid around the base of the ponytail, pinning it in place with bobby pins.
